Esophageal achalasia is a disease of unknown etiology charcterized by an absence of peristalsis in the body of esophagus and nonrelaxing hypertension of the lower esophageal sphincter. It is known that the cause is absence or loss of ganglion

Auerbach's plexus.
Most of the esophageal achalasia are in adults and the disorder in children is much rare with less than 5% of cases.
Recently we experienced two cases of pediatric achalasia in sibling. They were treated with Modified Heller's Myotomy through the abdominal approach, and the result was satisfactory.
